My youngest had the exact same reaction to red dye number four. It took us a few years, and some pretty wild tantrums to figure it out. She was so self aware at age four, that at a school fair, at the cookie decorating table, my neighbour and GP found her picking every single tiny pink and red sprinkle out of the mix she used to decorate her cookie! lol
