Great article. Thank you. My daughter is working on her PhD in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry. She does cancer research. During her undergrad and masters, she was always grossly outnumbered by males in all her classes. Now, both of the labs she works in are dominated by males. Her supervisor is male, and her PhD committee members are all male. She’s brilliant, having received well over a hundred thousand dollars in scholarships, but frustratingly her career prospects are significantly lower than those of her male counterparts. Many of whom are far less accomplished than she is. But she has been raised to believe in herself, so I have no doubt that she will push through and find her rightful place. I’m so proud of her for fighting the good fight.
